| Across the water is Gamla Stan, The Old Town, where the city was first founded in the 10th Century by King Olof Stötkonung. |
Stockholm is a city built on a series of 14 islands. 10,000 years ago, during the last ice age, all of this was under a vast glacier. |
Sweden (Sverige in Swedish) means Kingdom of the Svears, one of the two most powerful tribes of the region. The other large tribe was the Goths in Götaland. |

| The dark building, center left, is Stadshuset, the City Hall of Stockholm. It was completed in 1923, but was designed in a medieval style. The walk up the stairs into the tower will give you a magnificent view and a tight ass. |

The royal castle of Stockholm |

| I must confess, I think it looks more like an office building than a palace. |

View to the harbor from the palace. |

| Still, it's good to be the King. |

This ship, permanently docked in the harbor, is a world-renown youth hostel. |
| I'm almost tempted to stay there once, even if just for a night, just to have done it. |
The accommodations are apparently quite nice for a hostel. |

| The large building is Nordiska, The Nordic Museum. And the small black building with the ship masts on top is the Vasa Museet. |

| Here's another of the King's castles, this one on the island of Djurgarden. |
When the flag is flying, the King is in the city of Stockholm. |

The neighborhoods of Stockholm are so very, very quaint. |
| And the traditional houses of Gamla Stan are cute as can be. |
Of course, it wouldn't be Stockholm without the hundreds of thousands of ships. |

Meet Patricia, the old queen of Stockholm nightlife. She offers 4 decks of dance floors, a restaurant and even a casino. I've never experienced anything else like her, and I'll never forget the sight of hundreds of Swedes singing and bouncing in unison. |

Night, night, Stockholm. Sweet Dreams. And thanks for the memories. |
